Organic beef requires fields, pastures and all cattle feed to be certified orgainc. Naturally means raised without growth hormones or steriods.

The Murry ranch is located 45 miles north of Reno, NV - in Lassen County . These calves are born on this ranch and when they are 2 to 3 months old they head for the high country with their moms. These calves pasture with their moms from the early spring until the end of September in the high Sierra mountains. They graze in the forest and the meadows until we bring them home and wean them. These calves are then placed on pasture until we bring them back to the ranch to start finish feeding them. We will grain feed these calves until they are ready for processing which takes between 90 and 150 days. These calves are 100% vegetarian, they have never been fed any animal by products nor have they had any hormones or steroids administered to them. They live in a clean, quit and calm environment. Our feed lot is a tree farm with lots of natural shade and shelter and the cattle have a lot of room to exercise and are not over crowded. We raise and feed our calves by hand, this is not a commercial or industrialized cattle operation looking for maximum weight gain for profit. We deliver young lean, tender calves to the USDA processing plant in Fallon, NV. These calves are weighed before processing on a certified scale and average about 1000 lbs. on the hoof. We will send you a copy of your weigh certificate along with the invoices for the balance due based on your purchase. The processing plant will customize your order to satisfy your family's size and the cuts that you desire. The cost of the calf is $1.37 per lb on the hoof. We do accept half orders, a whole calf will cost you approximately $1370.00, the processing fee is approximately $335.00. You will recieve approximately 400 lbs of young, lean, tender meat at cost of a little over $4.00 per pound. The meat will be brought back to Reno/Sparks area for easy pickup. For a 1/2 beef you need to have 10 to 12 cubic feet of freezer space. Your order requires a $100.00 deposit. We will send you a copy of your weigh certificate along with the invoices for the balance due based on your purchase.
